Training Artificial Intelligence in Robots
I have built the hardware and software for simulations of electric vehicles, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Highly Autonomous Vehicles (HAV). I used Matlab, Robot Operating System (ROS), PreScan, Unity and Unreal including CARLA. By analyzing recorded data to create virtualized sensors (such as the LIDARs shown here) or hardware-in-the-loop testing, I was able to extensively develop and prove software before it was tested real roads. This significantly reduced time to production.
Unmanned Vehicles
The TARDEC project “Autonomous Platform Demonstrator” (APD) was a 6 wheeled, 10 ton autonomous tank. I performed simulations and requirements analysis. The project was a success.
Interactive, Autonomous Driving Simulation
This was shown in conferences from Las Vegas to Berlin. It’s hardware-in-the-loop and real-time control code was identical to autonomous demonstration vehicles available to drive outside the conference, which I also developed and calibrated.
Augmented Reality for the Workplace
DAQRI’s Unity plugin made it possible to orient the real and virtual world by use of image recognition (shown here with a QR code).
This corrected for drift when moving through a large power plant.
The intuitive system expedited remote monitoring of high voltage systems.
